One of the most useful internet resources for walkers in Switzerland are the on-line maps which are available  at scales of 1:100,000, 1:50,000 and 1:25,000. The maps appear to be the Landeskarte series, although footpaths are not marked with the red lines as on the SAW maps.

The website is called SWISSGEO . Click on the logo further down this page to go to the site. In order to find the map you want type in somewhere on the route that you know.

For instance in the Strassenname  box enter "Bahnhof" .

In the Stadt box enter  "Sargans". Then press Go.

This will then take you to a map of Sargans around the railway station.

You can also type in just the name of the town or village.

The PLZ box is for the town/village 4 digit postcode.

The maps can be printed off or you can copy and paste them into a table using Microsoft Word.
