Observation notes at Hellifield
I spent many happy hours in the Hellifield area during my youth and early adulthood. Below are a selection of what I saw identified where known. The tables are arranged in reverse date order starting with summer 1968.

The information with regard to train workings is based on the 1963 freight working timetable, and information for passenger trains found in the 1961 passenger WTT for local trains and departures from hellifield in the 1962 WTT for the expresses.
