GRÄCHEN TO HANNIGALP
|
We left Grächen (1619m) on the fairly steep track from near the Seetalbahn up to the Z’Seew (1720m) lake passing Stations of the Cross by the side of the path. The track beyond the lake is quite broad and is used as a sledge path in the winter. It climbs steadily and, often very steeply, through forests with just a few clearings. Eventually the path reaches Hannigalp at 2120m.

The Weisshorn from Hannigalp
There are
extensive views including the Bietschorn across the Rhône valley and the
Matterhorn. From the viewpoint above Hannigalp we could see the
Aletschgletscher and the tip of the Jungfrau. We returned to Grächen via the
path through Taa, which in places is very steep. The time up from Grächen was 1
½ hours and back down 2 hours
