Winterwanderweg

Winter paths are to be found all over Switzerland and are usually cleared by small snow ploughs. We've now walked these paths in many areas of the Swiss Alps in the Berner Oberwald and Wallis cantons. The paths are usually quite easy and safe, although sometimes a little slippy going downhill. We now wear Yaktrax grips on our boots or carry Microspikes to use if the paths get very icy.  We've also combined walking with cross-country skiing (Langlauf in Switzerland) to form an interesting holiday.
